Physical properties of soils under conservation agriculture: A multi-site experiment on five soil types in south-western France

چکیده
Soil properties, under the major influence of agricultural practices in cultivated fields, distribution and quality water vary greatly space time. In conservation agriculture (CA), combination implemented can modify retention circulation. this study, fields managed CA adjacent with regular ploughing (CONV) were used to characterize functioning soils Adour-Garonne basin south-western France. Hydraulic conductivity (KS), bulk density available capacity (AWC) measured a depth 50 cm on multiple dates assess their temporal dynamics. Mean KS was 1.5–3.0 times as high (100–160 mm h−1) CONV (50–70 h−1), depending soil. had less variability infiltration than CONV. Under CONV, generally after but decreased rapidly (by factor 2–20) soil studied. AWC significantly higher surface horizon (0–5 cm) difference remained small (≤10 %) at scale profile. contrast, rooting depth, thus ability use AWC, CA. Thus, changes seem be related more improved (through greater stable over time) by crops increased root exploration) an increase itself. These elements make it possible better evaluate effects implementation crop supply quantitative management

Carbon mitigation strategies and mechanisms have been globally implemented in an attempt to prevent catastrophic climate change. Kyoto targets require reductions in greenhouse gas emissions and increases in carbon sequestration. Although a number of carbon neutral technologies have been adopted such as bio-fuel and alternative energies, these currently fail to meet global requirements. An innov...
متن کاملPhysical properties of five grain dust types.
Physical properties of grain dust derived from five grain types (soybean, rice, corn, wheat, and sorghum) were measured and reported. The grain dusts were obtained from dust collection systems of terminal grain handling facilities and were assumed to be representative of grain dust generated during the handling process. The physical properties reported were as follows: particle size distributio...

Once pesticides reach the soil, there are several factors that affect their soil behavior. To identify the principal soil and herbicide properties that control their adsorption and leaching, a study of five Chi...

Background: The activity concentrations of some radionuclides in soil samples collected from 20 locations in 8 major towns in Oyo State, Southwestern Nigeria have been determined by gamma-ray spectrometry technique. Materials and Methods: The activity concentrations were determined using high-purity germanium (HPGe) detector (Canberra Industries Inc.). The outdoor absorbed dose rates in air at ...
